Who isn't looking for a new adventure, a new project? We hear friends talking about an event, spectacular landscapes and it makes us want to! But it's not always easy to balance personal, family, and professional life to be able to go to these dream settings and get on our bikes!
Adaptability
I was a musician and photographer for several years before Velocidade, and these two activities, although they had a stronger season at certain times of the year, always allowed me to be flexible to be able to free myself when the weather was good because I always practiced sea or mountain sports.
Velocidade has just celebrated its fourth anniversary and in recent years I have realised how lucky I am to be able to think about cycling every day, even when I am at the sewing machine preparing bags or other accessories!
I breathe cycling and I enjoy contemplating the Ariège landscapes!
But to do this exciting craft , you have to devote a lot of time to it: preparing the parts, developing and researching new models...
I love spending time in front of the sewing machines, researching solutions, and testing the bike or taking photos! However, sometimes I don't have time to embark on adventures further away from the workshop and which require time, because we can't leave the machines idle for too long...
Daily Adventures
But in life, you have to look on the bright side, don't you? I consider myself an optimist by nature and I believe that we can experience beautiful things every day, mini adventures every day . And that's why I put small projects and escapades at the center of my daily life, rather than dreaming of big adventures that may not be possible.
It all starts over coffee with a little planning of the day before sunrise, followed by a family breakfast before my daughters leave for school. Then a sewing session starts in front of the machines. This is followed by an intense bike ride with a picnic in the bag for two hours in a beautiful forest, before returning to the workshop to sew and send a few packages, and meet my daughters for a little snack where we tell each other about our days! It's a very beautiful day for me!
I like to think that every day is unique and you never know what might happen to you.
It's for this same reason that I've chosen to embrace life in all its dimensions. And many times, I've had wonderful encounters on the bike: smiles, solidarity with other cyclists, riding for a hundred meters side by side with a deer five meters away from me, coming face to face with a wolf during a mountain outing...

RICARDO VIEIRA - FOUNDER/DESIGNER/COUTURIER
Ricardo has long been thinking about reducing his environmental impact, whether through his sporting practice of cycling, running, or in his everyday life, having decided to be vegetarian more than 20 years ago. Curious and passionate, he started creating and manufacturing his first objects when his grandfather gave him a sewing machine for his 17th birthday, and since then, he has worked to create, repair, and manufacture with the same energy and in the same direction, that of sobriety and localism. Convinced that the bicycle is the ultimate low-carbon solution for everyday travel, Ricardo decided to create Velocidade, and began designing and creating handmade bags, in a completely artisanal way.
