Life at the Velocidade workshop | January – new products, stock and preparations for spring

Life in the workshop | January - Between returning to calm, preparing for spring, and new developments

Life in the Workshop | January in the workshop is a month unlike any other. The pace slows down slightly after a very intense period, the days are shorter, and winter settles in for good. It's also a precious time to take a step back, reflect on the past year, and calmly prepare for what's to come. At the Velocidade workshop, this January has been dedicated to sewing , reorganizing stock , and preparing the pieces that will be with you as soon as the first warm days arrive.

A productive start to the year in the workshop

Even though the season is quieter on the roads, the workshop never truly stops. January is often a time for working on bespoke pieces, fine-tuning certain manufacturing details, and restarting anticipated production runs. The past few weeks have been filled with sewing custom orders, restarting essential production, and looking forward to spring, which always arrives faster than expected.

Back in stock: your favorite bags

Good news: several models are back in stock. The Funambule frame bags , the Desman , practical and versatile, our Musettes , for everyday use or light outings, the Grizzli and Volcanos , designed for adventure and bikepacking.

Each piece is made in the workshop, with the same care and the same high standards, to accompany you for a long time, on the road as well as on the trails.

Winter demands it: merino wool and new products

January is also the heart of winter. Merino wool balaclavas are always essential for braving the cold, whether cycling or going about your daily life. And because the workshop also loves new products, two brand-new bio-based water bottles have been added to the range. Made from renewable resources, they reflect a more responsible approach, without compromising on usability.

Taking care of your saddlebags

Finally, to start the year off right, we've prepared an article dedicated to the care of our panniers . How to clean them, dry them, and store them over time: simple steps designed to extend the lifespan of your equipment and preserve its properties.

January is often a quiet but essential month. It lays the groundwork for the season ahead, a time for preparation, reflection, and the desire to get back on the road as soon as the days get longer. Thank you for being here, for keeping the workshop going, and for sharing this same desire to ride far and wide, simply. More to come very soon.

Velocidade is the feeling of freedom given by speed, the wind that makes your eyes water, the sound of the air blowing near your ears, a little taste of adrenaline that makes you feel good.

RICARDO VIEIRA - FOUNDER/DESIGNER/FASHIONIST

Ricardo has long been thinking about reducing his environmental impact, whether through his cycling and running, or in his daily life, having decided to become a vegetarian over 20 years ago. Curious and passionate, he began creating and making his first objects when his grandfather gave him a sewing machine for his 17th birthday, and since then, he has dedicated himself to creating, repairing, and making things with the same energy and in the same direction: simplicity and local production. Convinced that cycling is the ultimate low-carbon solution for everyday travel, Ricardo decided to create Velocidade and embarked on designing and crafting handmade bags using entirely artisanal methods.
