At Velocidade, we handcraft all our bags in France. This slow, meticulous, and artisanal process is at the heart of our identity. And it's precisely for this reason that we don't participate in Black Friday. In this article, we explain why you'll never see massive discounts from us—and why that's a good thing.
No Black Friday at Velocidade: a deliberate choice
We're sometimes asked if we plan to participate in Black Friday. The answer is simple: no, Velocidade won't be doing Black Friday . Not as a gimmick, but out of consistency. Black Friday relies on a well-known formula: produce a lot, inflate prices, and then offer impressive discounts for a short period. At Velocidade, this model doesn't align with our pace, our values, or our manufacturing methods. We prefer to be transparent: our prices don't change because they're fair from the start.
Handcrafted in our workshop in France
Every Velocidade bag, every accessory, is crafted in our French workshop. No assembly line, no mass production: each piece is made by hand , patiently, with ample time dedicated to cutting, assembly, and finishing. This local, artisanal production involves:
- limited editions
- no overproduction
- carefully chosen materials
- a know-how that cannot be “accelerated”
In other words: it's impossible to manufacture quickly to clear out stock en masse . And above all, that's not what we want to do.
A fair price all year round, with no fake discounts
Participating in Black Friday would involve artificially inflating prices beforehand in order to then offer a "discount". That's not how we operate.
Our prices simply reflect:
• the time spent on each bag
• the quality of materials
• local artisanal production
• fair remuneration for work
No surprises, no hype: just a fair price, all year round.
Consume less but better: our position
We sincerely believe that a bag made by hand, locally, with sustainable materials, is worth more than a discounted product for a weekend sale .

RICARDO VIEIRA - FOUNDER/DESIGNER/FASHIONIST
Ricardo has long been thinking about reducing his environmental impact, whether through his cycling and running, or in his daily life, having decided to become a vegetarian over 20 years ago. Curious and passionate, he began creating and making his first objects when his grandfather gave him a sewing machine for his 17th birthday, and since then, he has dedicated himself to creating, repairing, and making things with the same energy and in the same direction: simplicity and local production. Convinced that cycling is the ultimate low-carbon solution for everyday travel, Ricardo decided to create Velocidade and embarked on designing and crafting handmade bags using entirely artisanal methods.
