Lampe Llum à Dynamo

Llum Dynamo Lamp

Our friends at Caminade have innovated once again! Introducing the Llum dynamo lamp.

To gain autonomy during our bikepacking trips, I've been wanting to install a hub dynamo for a while now to avoid carrying an external battery. It's not only to save weight, but also to be able to have a light permanently on the bike, simply to be more visible on the roads.

For longer outings or when the days get shorter

With the Caminade Llum Dynamo Light attached to your bike at all times, you no longer need to worry about your lights' battery levels. The Llum lights your way using the dynamo installed on your bike, and as you continue pedaling, the Llum Dynamo Light can also charge your phone or a power bank, allowing you to extend your rides.

On everyday rides, you can ride without worrying about how much daylight you have left to ride... You have the freedom to extend your rides as you wish, exploring new paths without time constraints.

An invitation to exploration and improvisation

You can take any trail or detour without fear of returning home at night. This freedom of exploration will enrich your adventures and allow you to discover landscapes and experiences you might never have imagined.

The positive energy lamp

Caminade 's workshop is located in Ille-sur-Têt, 100km from us, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Llum , which means light in Catalan, is manufactured just 7km from the Caminade custom titanium bike workshop! Another innovation still marked by their strong convictions already applied to the manufacture of custom titanium bikes.

With this solution, you have a dynamo lamp designed and manufactured in France . And you don't just have a lamp, but you have the best of both worlds: lighting while you ride, but also electric autonomy to charge your devices. The Llum dynamo lamp is repairable and is available as a front lamp and also a rear lamp .

And the little extra, if you want, is that you can also light up the bivouac by powering the Llum dynamo lamp with a battery.

"The charge starts at low speed and even allows you to continue charging at very low speed thanks to a capacitor that smooths out the energy from the dynamo: the same principle, moreover, that allows us to continue lighting when stopped, whether to be seen at a red light or to light up the setting up of the bivouac."

Stay outside

I've had a Llum on my road and long-distance bike for a few months now, and I no longer need to worry about recharging the light before every ride. The Llum is self-powered, ensuring constant, uninterrupted visibility. It also allows me to fully concentrate on enjoying the ride without the hassle of batteries.

In 2025 I plan to do some long distance projects and having the lamp on the bike will be essential to recharge equipment such as GPS or phone. I even decided to equip my Allroad titanium gravel bike also with a Llum dynamo lamp to keep this autonomy on the Gravel Birds .

For those looking for a reliable and committed solution for their bikepacking trips, Caminade is the answer

In Bikepacking mode

Bikepacking, a form of minimalist cycle touring, invites you to experience adventure by bike, exploring the great outdoors with ease and autonomy. It combines the spirit of adventure cycling with the practicality of reduced equipment, allowing you to cover longer distances and access varied terrain, including unpaved trails.

Minimalism and lightness

Bikepacking is distinguished by its philosophy of minimalism. Unlike traditional cycle touring, which uses bulky racks and panniers, bikepacking favors lighter bags attached directly to the bike frame, saddle, and handlebars. This configuration allows for better maneuverability and greater freedom of movement, essential for technical terrain and long days in the saddle.

Essential equipment

Choosing the right gear is crucial when bikepacking. Bags are specially designed to optimize space and weight distribution. Ultralight clothing and camping gear are preferred to reduce the load without compromising comfort and safety. Good gear also includes a repair kit, multi-tools, and reliable navigation devices.

Autonomy and freedom

Bikepacking offers a high degree of autonomy . Cyclists can camp wherever they like, in the wilderness or in designated camping areas, freeing them from the constraints of accommodation. This autonomy comes with a deep connection to the environment, encouraging a more sustainable and nature-friendly way of traveling.

Exploration and discovery

Bikepacking opens up endless possibilities for exploration. Cyclists can take less-traveled roads, discover breathtaking landscapes, and experience authentic adventures far from the classic tourist routes. It's an invitation to discovery and improvisation, where each day brings its share of surprises and challenges. Bikepacking is an exhilarating way to discover the world by bike, combining adventure, freedom, and minimalism for a unique and enriching experience.

RICARDO VIEIRA - FOUNDER/DESIGNER/COUTURIER

Ricardo has long been thinking about reducing his environmental impact, whether through his sporting practice of cycling, running, or in his everyday life, having decided to be vegetarian more than 20 years ago. Curious and passionate, he started creating and manufacturing his first objects when his grandfather gave him a sewing machine for his 17th birthday, and since then, he has worked to create, repair, and manufacture with the same energy and in the same direction, that of sobriety and localism. Convinced that the bicycle is the ultimate low-carbon solution for everyday travel, Ricardo decided to create Velocidade, and began designing and creating handmade bags, in a completely artisanal way.
