Atelier Velocidade’s M57 Satchel: Artisan-crafted, French Canvas, and a Musical Nod for a Special Edition.
Before Atelier Velocidade, there was music. The name of the M57 Satchel refers to a musical project created and recorded a year before the birth of the Atelier Velocidade brand.
An important detail: this project was entirely composed and recorded in the same place where, today, our sewing machines produce your bags. The same space. Two forms of creation. A natural continuity between sound creation and textile creation.
M57: where music meets the workshop
Before bags, there was sound. M57 was born from a need for exploration, without borders or labels. A project where acoustic dialogues with electronic, where the breaths of bagpipes meet synthetic textures, where roots encounter the unknown.
In Lisbon, Ricardo grew up with traditional Portuguese and Iberian music. Flutes, bagpipes, ancient melodies. Then, in Ariège, the landscapes changed — and so did the sounds. Little by little, electronic music invited itself in, opening a new field of experimentation. M57 is a journey between two countries. Between tradition and modernity.
Between sonic matter and silence. An intimate, free project that explores like drawing a line on a map — with curiosity. This first opus Mirobolante reveals this diversity: a musical panorama where each piece is a fragment of a landscape.
A bag designed for movement
The M57 bag was created with the idea of freedom in mind. Compact, lightweight, and functional, it keeps your valuables close at hand, whether you're cycling, traveling, or just on the move.
Made from our French-sourced canvas and assembled in our workshop, it features: an easily accessible exterior pocket, a secure zippered pocket, an interior pocket, a long adjustable shoulder strap, and attachment points for securing it to other bags.
A surprise for the first ones
To celebrate the history of the M57, the first 10 bags shipped will contain a CD of the original musical project.

Ricardo has long been thinking about reducing his environmental impact, whether through his athletic pursuits of cycling and running, or in his everyday life, having decided to be vegetarian more than 20 years ago. Curious and passionate, he began creating and manufacturing his first objects when his grandfather gave him a sewing machine for his 17th birthday. Since then, he has been dedicated to creating, repairing, and manufacturing with the same energy and in the same direction: sobriety and localism. Convinced that the bicycle is the ultimate decarbonized solution for daily travel, Ricardo decided to create Velocidade and embarked on the design and creation of handmade bags, entirely handcrafted.
